Rotodyne
A beautiful in-house model of the Fairey
Rotodyne, in 1: 40 scale, made of various
different materials, dating from the late 1950s.
The Rotodyne was an advanced concept that almost
made it. The prototype flew in 1957 but
although several orders were received, delays
led to the whole project being cancelled in
1962.
The model represents the projected production
version rather than the prototype. It is
one of possibly just two or three models made of
the aircraft. |
