Sanders
Roe SR.53
An in-house factory made display model of the
Sanders Roe SR.53, an experimental British
fighter that flew in 1957. The aircraft
was unusual in that it had both rocket and jet
engines. Made of wood, the model carries the
registration number of the first of the two
prototypes that actually flew, XD145. It
performed impressively, providing data for a
more advanced fighter project the SR.177. |
